Alberta Emma Pahnisch was born to Albert and Esther (Behrens) Pahnisch on April 29, 1931, in Cedar Falls, IA. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua. Alberta attended Grant Country School and Nashua High School. She was a waitress at the Cedar Restaurant in Nashua and other cafes in the Waverly area.

On August 3, 1956, Alberta was united in marriage to Harvey Siemons at the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage in Nashua. To this union three sons were born. In 1957, they moved to their farm near Greene.

Her hobbies included mail order shopping, working in puzzle books, reading tabloid papers and collecting dolls and plates. Alberta was very generous in gift giving. She always sent you home with something and was very appreciative of anything done for her. She could prepare a meal in minutes to feed two or twelve. Her Saturday coffees were enjoyed by everyone who knew her.

Alberta dreaded Friday, the 13th and would always throw salt over her left shoulder for luck. Spending time with her grandchildren was what she enjoyed the most.

Alberta continued working with her husband’s business, Harvey Siemons LTD, until retiring in 2001. Failing health moved her to the 11th St. Chautauqua Guest Home. She improved and in 2004 moved to the Riverside Assisted Living. After taking a fall she was sent to the Mason City Hospital and then to 9th St. Chautauqua Guest Home.

Alberta is survived by her three sons: Mark (Denise) of Greene, Alan (Kathy) of Greene and Scott (Christine) of Charles City; eight grandchildren, Tim (Christie) Siemons, Courtney (Andy) Weiskamp, Cameron Siemons, Branden and Austin Siemons, Sara and Jessica Siemons and Katie Hawbaker; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Siemons and Morgan Weiskamp; one brother, Richard (Sharon) Pahnisch of Nashua

She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, on December 12, 1999, and her parents, Albert & Esther.
