CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Margaret Hoeft, 95, of Charles City, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Margaret Hoeft will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Margaret Helen Daly Hoeft was born December 5, 1911, in Floyd County, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Lonagan) Daly. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy High School. In October of 1945, she was united in marriage to LaVerne Hoeft at Camp Grouber, Oklahoma. They resided in Charles City all of their lives. LaVerne died on September 1, 1977. Over the years Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for J. C. Penney, the Pontiac garage, the city of Charles City, Walsh Manufacturing and Richard‚s Sales and Service. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Saint Jude Circle, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Margaret‚s interests included playing 500, bowling, dancing, traveling, reading, watching football and spending time feeding livestock at the farm. Family was always important to Margaret and she took special interest in the grandchildren and their varied activities.

Living family members include three children, Dale (Jane) Hoeft, Jean (Cliff) Boley and Rita (Steve) Berns all of Charles City; 9 grandchildren, Laura (Mike) Turner, Teresa (Juvenal) Pulido, Aaron (Christina) Hoeft, Coleman, Crystal and Amy Boley, and Stephanie, Nathan and Lisa Berns; and 5 great grandchildren, Brody Bouillion, Rylie Turner, Daley Hoeft and Kaylee and Kyler Hennick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter, Patricia Hoeft; a sister, Marie Pfaff and a brother, Charles Daly.
